Photograph Collection 1913-1989.

This photograph collection consists of images that document Dr. Volker's entire life. Photos record his childhood and family in Elizabeth, New Jersey, as well as his education at Indiana University and later the University of Rochester. Additional photographs document his career at the University of Alabama Medical Center in Birmingham from 1948 until his death in 1989. The images document the people with whom Volker worked at UAB and in the University of Alabama System. Photographs also record Dr. Volker's overseas travels after World War II with the Unitarian Service Committee and to Thailand as a dental consultant. Other photographs document Dr. Volker's activities in Iceland, his offices at UAB, and his wife and children.
